The first thing I heard about The Range was the fact that there was a giant Jenga game. Besides that, I hadn’t even heard about it or seen it. I was “out of loop,” which is never a good thing in this business. Strangely enough this place has been around for over 20 years. The Range is located at 3201 116th Street which is right off of Indiana and is open 8am-midnight. As you drive up, it looks like you are driving up to a Texas ranch. There are two wooden posts with a decorated metal sign.
There are many trees around the property which is nice to see in our area. The Range is primarily a driving range (makes sense). There are 52 golf tees on a lighted grass range. The golf range is very well maintained and is an excellent place to practice. The putting green has recently doubled in size to improve your experience. This may be silly to mention, but make sure to bring your own clubs! This isn’t Putt-Putt. You can now buy clubs in the pro shop!
If golf is not your thing, no problem. There are beer garden lights wrapped around the trees and tables throughout the area. The Range also offers four washer pits and holds tournaments.
The Range also has a small outdoor music stage for live music. Plus, Crusty’s Wood Fired Pizza is often at The Range serving some of the best pizza in town. What is pizza without beer? Check out a variety of beer options at the club/pro shop or have a seat at the lit side bar. This time around we had a bucket of the Dos Equis Dos A Rita. Keep in mind that at this time the bar only offers beer (and sometimes wine).
If you’re looking for a new place to hang out with your friends, this is it. The Range offers up a fun, chill atmosphere and you really can’t beat summer/fall nights in Lubbock. Be sure to follow them on Facebook to find out daily specials and live music nights!
