The people behind Dirty Deeds believe that the Art of the Manly Shave is an “important skill all men should have,” and I think they’re right. Do you think that James Bond shaved his face with cream from a can? Steve McQueen? The Hulk? No. I can guarantee they had a classic wet shave, a shave which happens to be better for the planet, the pocketbook, and, of course, your skin.
Dirty Deeds sells everything a guy needs to achieve this skill, most notably their handmade beer shaving soap, which comes in intriguing scents such as Bay Rum & Lime, Clove, and Vanilla Sandalwood. Kits also come with a boar bristle brush and a round wooden soap dish.
There’s just something about the process of an old-fashioned shave that beats a can of Barbasol. Plus, these soaps are made with high quality ingredients right here in Lubbock, TX by the cutest couple ever, Heather and Justin May.
The couple makes the soaps right out of their home, sometimes with their kiddos. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. Their products are artfully packaged with attention paid to every last detail, so that when you open your soaps, you can’t help but feel like you just got something pretty special. This is a mom & pop business in the best possible way.
We were won over by the shave kit, but I can’t wait to try some of their other products, like their handmade Loofah Soap, which has a loofah embedded right into the soap. Now doesn’t that make you want to go and take a shower?
