First Friday Art Trail takes place on the first Friday of every month (rain or shine) in the downtown Lubbock area from 6:00pm until 9:00pm! Free, self-guided, and family-friendly… yes, kids and dogs! Support local businesses and organizations by simply showing up to the Trail!
By now, you are aware of the Lubbock City Council’s vote to de-fund the FFAT. LHUCA is now faced with the challenge of finding the funding to cover the trolleys, marketing and, most importantly, the security guards that keep FFAT safe for all of us. This Friday, find the FFAT backdrop in the LHUCA Icehouse, take a photo, and upload it to social media. “Art As You Are!”
Ways to support FFAT:
-Come to the Trail! Hang out, walk around, sip and eat, enjoy live music, check out some great art, and vibe with friends.
–First Friday After Party fundraiser happening on Friday, August 2 at 9:00pm at 5102 Avenue T. There will be a PG-13 drag show featuring Redd Roulette and Lubbock Dragon Queens. $5 donation for entry (all proceeds to benefit LHUCA).
–Fund First Friday fundraiser happening on Saturday, August 3 at 6:00pm at Tornado Arts (1824 Buddy Holly): Live music, wine and beer from Llano Estacado and Two Docs, BYOB and bring a chair.
-Eat at The Co-Op Public House or Free Range Fry House: They’re giving back $3 from every taco plate sold directly to LHUCA. This imitative goes through this week, and possibly will extend into next week.
-Eat at Flippers Tavern. They will be donating $1 for every $4 Captain America hot dog a la carte sold during FFAT this month. Valid Friday, August 2 from 11:00am – 10:00pm.
-Financially give what you can. Donate online.

-LHUCA Icehouse: Live music by Jeremy Couture from 6:00 – 8:00pm. He will also be promoting the Lubbock Live music festival.
-LHUCA Plaza Stage: ArtFit presentation of bellydance, aerial silks, and lyra. Performance is from 6:00 – 6:45pm.
–Lubbock Symphony: Bites from Siam Foodie Cafe and Benavides Barbecue Food trucks. DJ Say Hey is making her national debut in the courtyard at 6:30pm.
-Nashwell Cafe: Exhibiting artist Lee Madrid will be offering mini-workshops at 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
–Rock Paper Shears: Vendors, tarot card readers, and more.
–Therese Barrett Fine Art Photography: Live music by Sterling Millhollon.
-TTU School of Art Satellite Gallery: Brotherhood & Barbershops exhibition is a pop-up barbershop gallery will be offering free haircut services (first come, first serve basis).
–Two Docs Brewing: Live music from 7:00 – 10:00pm, 20+ local vendors, and about 10 food trucks.
