Visiting Crazy Hoe Farms and the Hi-Plains Orchards booths first, we loaded up our large bag in no time with veggies and apples.
We still had lots of booths left to go so we went back to the car to unload and ventured off again. We checked out all the art booths and my little one was so excited to get her red balloon in Tornado gallery. We even got matching bracelets.
We met with Larry Simmons and Justin and Laura Anderson, the market organizers, and their enthusiasm for the market was infectious.
Our bag started getting even more full with beer bread from Simply Decadent Bakery, jalapeno sausage from Klemke’s Sausage Haus, and bagels from Black Bear Bagel Company. And we bought some soap from our friends at Dirty Deeds Soaps.
I could have done even more damage and gone for a third trip around, but my cash was dwindling and the kiddo was wearing out.
We headed home but the market lived on as we enjoyed a farmer’s market lunch with all our goodies. Our 9 month old easily put away two fresh tomatoes and we munched on our sausage, beer bread, and spinach salad with cucumbers and tomatoes.
All and all it was a wonderful morning, with wonderful food, and wonderful people. We can’t wait to enjoy the market all season.
