It is that time of year again for summer vacations and out-of-town visitors! If you are looking to stay in town this summer but you are wanting a getaway from the norm, look no further than the Hilton Garden Inn Lubbock. This was not just your usual hotel stay. We got to experience something special that you don’t see in Lubbock often…read on!
The Hotel
The Hilton Garden Inn is a beautiful new hotel located in Southwest Lubbock’s expanding business district, walking distance to great shopping, restaurants and entertainment. This hotel is so unique for our area with a beautiful lobby to wow you right when you step in. The 806 Lounge was a great place to just to relax, plus there was a popular outdoor seating area. The indoor swimming pool featured three small water features and plenty of lounge seating.
Be on the look out for special events!
Our experience began in one of the eight junior suites available at HGI. Complete with a full-sized refrigerator, kitchen/dining area, and large living room with a TV and plenty of seating. The suite would be a great place for a small group get together to watch your favorite team or celebrate a bachelorette party. The bedroom was set off to the side with an attached bathroom which included a walk-in shower and separate tub.
Chef’s Table
The most wonderful part of our stay was enjoying dinner at the Chef’s Table. What a wonderful and unique experience! Chef Tony prepared four courses for us while Breanna made sure we had just the right wine to accompany each bite. These two were so friendly and kind – you could tell that they were really passionate about their jobs which makes all the difference in the world. We highly suggest this unique experience for a girls night out, date night or really any other occasion. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for special events and wine dinners!
Here is a little peak at our dinner. All fresh and local food prepared right in front of us!
Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta | Goat Cheese w/ Honey
The tomatoes were fresh and juicy, and the touch of honey really took this dish over the top!
Sea Bass on Pancetta Crisp Salad
The sea bass had an Asian-style marinade which paired deliciously with the arugula and salty pancetta.
Braised Short-Rib on Lobster Risotto
The rib was so tender and full of flavor, while the lobster risotto (Chef Tony loaded it up with plenty of cheese – reason #48570238 why we like him!) was a perfect base.
Creme Fraiche Panna Cotta | Fresh Berries Port Reduction
A light yet delicious dessert to top off the evening.
