Location: 374 FM 1317 | Tahoka (about 30 minutes from central Lubbock)
Tasting room open on Saturdays 1-6pm
What to Expect: Imagine this… you are driving through the plains of West Texas when you see rows & rows of vineyards. You notice the Yellow House gate & are welcomed with a beautiful drive up to the tasting room. A quaint white building awaits you with a large window, wine barrels, & colorful flowers. Upon entering the tasting room, you notice that the large window gives you a a perfect view of the vineyards. The tasting room has a rustic feel with wood panels and a large blue bar with a black top. A TV sits in the back above a shelf full of “swag” items. Take a seat at the barrel-themed tables, hang at the bar, or head outside to the patio with a million dollar view. Too hot? No worries, the patio is covered and provides ample shade. Peaceful is the best word to describe it. Head to the bar for a tasting or grab a glass to enjoy with your friends & family. Our tasting was with CJ, the actual grower, so it was really cool to learn about the grapes & the overall process. Super nice guy! Our favorites (so far) are the Tempranillo & the Gruner Veltliner. Before you leave be sure to grab some bottles and join the wine club.
About Yellow House: In 2015, CJ and Jennifer planted their first five acres of grapes. Kubacak Vineyards now sits on 65 acres of vines. They have planted special varietals not often seen in Texas. They currently have Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Gruner Veltiner, Picpoul Blanc, Roussanne, Graciano, Petit Manseng, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Merlot. Yellow House is one of only a handful of wineries in Texas where you can walk out of our tasting room and see every vine that produces fruit for their label.
